Criteria for Covid-19 treatment with Paxlovid?

Paxlovid Covid-19 treatment

The food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized Paxlovid for the treatment of symptomatic mild to moderate COVID-19. You can be treated with Paxlovid if you are an adult ≥65 years old, have a history of an immunocompromising condition, have multiple risk factors for progression to severe disease, or are an adult ≥50 years old and not vaccinated. If you meet any of these criteria, Paxlovid can reduce the risk of COVID-19-associated hospitalization and death.

Paxlovid is not recommended if you are positive for COVID-19 but do not have symptoms.

Paxlovid must be started within five days of the onset of your symptoms for it to be the most effective. If you have any questions about Paxlovid, please do not hesitate to contact us.
